Rice flour – 2 cups
Grated coconut – 1 cup
Jaggery – 1/2 cup (as per taste)
Sugar – 1/2 cup (as per taste)
Water – 1/2 cup
Ghee – 1 tablespoon
Salt – 1 pinch
Method of preparation:
1. Preparation of jaggery syrup:
First take jaggery and sugar together in a pan and heat it with water and melt the jaggery. You can add 1 pinch of salt in it, so that the sweetness of jaggery is a little less. When the jaggery melts, keep it aside.
2. Mixing the flour:
Take rice flour in a big bowl, mix grated coconut and ghee and knead it well. Then mix all the ingredients together with jaggery syrup mixture to make a mixture. Make sure that the mixture is not too hard, but soft.
3. Filling the mold for making pita:
Now divide this mixture into small portions and place them in the pita mold. If you don't have a mold, you can make round or pressed pita with a simple pot or by hand.
4. Steaming:
Now fill a big pot with water and keep steaming for 10-15 minutes on high heat by placing a steamer or pita mold on top of the pot. When the pita is steamed, you will see that its dark taste and aroma will come out.
5. Serving:
Steamed Pitha is now ready to serve. When the pita is cooled, you can garnish it with some grated coconut and serve it.
Enjoy:
Your hand is steamed cake! Now enjoy this delicious sweet pitha hot with family.
Suggestion:
While making steamed pithas, be careful not to make the pithas too soft. Steamed pita has its original taste when it gets a little hard.
You can also use sweet sweet paneer to make vapa pitha without coconut.
This way you can easily make yummy and delicious steamed pita.
