How To Cook Long Semai Recipe in Easy Way: Yummy Sweets for Eid and Festivals

Long semai or "big semai" is a popular sweet dish of Bangladesh. It is very popular especially during Eid-ul-Fitr, Eid-ul-Azha, or other festivals. As delicious as it is to eat, it is also quite easy to make. Today we will share a simple and delicious recipe of cooking Semai.
Ingredients:
Long semai – 200 grams
Ghee – 2 tbsp
Sugar – 1 cup
Milk – 1 liter
Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp
Raisins – 2 tbsp
Nuts (chopped) – 2 tbsp / There were no nuts in the house so I did not give them
Pistachio (chopped) – 2 tbsp
Cinnamon – 1 piece
Bay leaves – 1

Method of preparation:
1. Semai Vaja: First heat 2 tbsp ghee in a pan. Then add long semai to it and fry in medium flame until semai turns golden in color. When the semai is fried, keep it aside.
2. Boiling the milk: Pour 1 liter of milk in a pan and let it heat on medium heat. When the milk starts boiling, add cardamom powder, cinnamon and bay leaves. Continue to boil the milk on medium heat till it reduces to half.
3. Addition of semai and sugar: When the milk is half boiled, add fried semai to it. Add sugar when semai mixes well in milk. When the sugar is completely dissolved, stir the mixture well.
4. Adding Raisins and Nuts: When the semai is fully cooked, add raisins, nuts, and pistachios to it. Keep it covered for a while, so that the almonds and raisins mix well with the semai.
5. Nutritious semai is ready: Once long semai is ready, serve hot. It is very tasty and nutritious to eat.
Tips:
You can add a little less milk while cooking semai if you prefer less thick semai.
You can add a little more ghee to make semai taste better.
You can increase or decrease the ingredients like raisins, almonds, pistachios etc.
