Cooking Maida Semai: A Delicious and Easy Recipe"
Boyda Shemai cooking
Boyda Shemai is a favorite and popular winter dessert in Bangladesh. It is usually prepared for Eid, Puja or any special occasion. Boyda Shemai or "Stuffed Shemai" is a sweet, savory and tender dish made of silken Shemai and accompanied by a combination of cinnamon, cardamom, almonds and sweet milk.
Ingredients:
Shemai - 200 grams
Milk - 1 liter
Sugar – 150 grams (as per taste)
Ghee - 2 tbsp
Almonds - 2 tbsp (chopped)
Raisins - 1 tbsp
Cardamom - 2
Cinnamon - 1 piece
Silver Siding (for making Boyda) - 10-15
Method:
Shemai Vaja: First heat 2 tbsp ghee in a pan. Then add shemai and fry well. Switch off the oven when the shemai turns golden brown.
Preparation of milk sherbet: Pour milk in a pot and let it heat on medium heat. After the milk is heated, mix it well with sugar, cardamom, cinnamon and stir the milk. When the milk thickens, add almonds and raisins.
Mixing Shemai: Add the soaked Shemai to hot milk syrup. Mix all the ingredients well and cook for 5-7 minutes, so that the shemai absorbs the flavor of the milk. When the milk reduces, the shemai will become soft and delicious.
Boyda is ready: Now fill some shemai mixture with silver siding and roll them nicely. Make all the Shemai Boyada like this and keep aside.
Serving: Once the siding mixture has cooled, serve it nicely. Your sweet and delicious boyda shemai is ready.
Enjoy:
It is delicious to eat, and wonderful to share with family or guests on a winter evening or on any special day. This food is not only delicious but also an integral part of our culture.
