Dal Bora Recipe

 Daler Bora 

Dal Bora is a popular Bengali snack. Many people also call it Piyaji.  This bora is made by frying in oil.  It is usually made with khasari dal or boot dal as well.  This bora is very tasty.  Many people like to eat it again with hot rice. This is an easy recipe.  Very easy to make.



Ingredients:


Moong dal / Khesari dal / Booter dal - 1 cup

 Onion - 2 (chopped)

 Chillies – 2-3 (chopped)

 Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp (chopped)

 Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp

 Cumin - 1/2 tsp

 Salt - as per taste

 Oil – As much oil for frying


Method:


 Soaking dal: First soak mung dal or khesari dal for 3-4 hours.

 Preparation of the mixture: Grind the soaked dal in a pestle and mortar.  But if you can't get it into pata, mix the soaked dal with water and make a fine paste in the blender.  The paste should not be too runny.

 Mixture: Mix chopped onions, green chillies, coriander leaves, turmeric powder, cumin seeds and salt into the paste.

 Frying Preparation: Heat oil in a pan or kadai.

 Making Bora: Make small balls out of the paste with the help of hands and place in hot oil.  After 1/2 minute, turn the bora over.  Reduce the heat of the oven and fry.  Take it off when it turns red.

Serving: What fun to eat these red red hot bodas.  You will want to eat it again and again if you eat it once.  Everyone prepares and eats this way at home . start here
